Shannon/Limerick, Ireland

So, I made it! Slowly, but surely. The flight to JFK airport went fine, other than that we had to sit on the runway in the hot plane for a while because there wasn't a port to dock in. The flight to Shannon was delayed for two hours, so I sat around at the airport and didn't get on the flight until midnight in New York. I tried to sleep on the plane, but just couldn't get comfortable in my squished seat, so I closed my eyes for about an hour. Other than that I watched movies and tv until we arrived. Wendy and Diane and her husband, the professors, were nice enough to wait for me in the airport until I got in. We left on a bus and had to have the bus driver talk to the bed and breakfast place we were staying at so that we could find our way. It turned out it was only a block away from where we were at the time. So we were all tired when we got into the b&b, but we decided we shouldn't sleep yet. The host lady, Helen, was really nice and talked to us and showed us all the places that we should see around Limerick, the town. We went to see King John's castle and St. Mary's cathedral, two buildings that were built a little under 1000 years ago. I'm just at the airport right now waiting for all the other kids' planes to get in, so I'll post some pictures later. Thats all for now, we're going to load on the bus right now, but I'll get on a little later when we're at the hostel in Killarney most likely. So far Ireland is great and the people are SO friendly!

Finalizing everything!

So I leave tomorrow! I can't wait, and it just seems like it has gone so fast. Today mom and I have been going over everything for our my packing and then our plans together later in August. Good thing too, because Mom accidently booked a hotel in Ireland instead of Scotland so we had to try and find a place to stay in Scotland. Let me tell you, it isn't cheap. We found a place, so everything worked out, but it was a little nerve-wracking. I don't even blame Mom, she's been doing all of the set-up for our jaunt in Germany together, so I'm grateful. I don't really have that much to say currently, and it is hard to type on Mom's small keyboard, but I thought I'd just write a little something to make sure everyone knows I'm leaving tomorrow!!! I'll post some pictures and things as soon as I can. Internet access for the first week may or may not be possible. Much love to everyone!

21 days......

I've been feeling the pressure! School is almost out, there's only one more week of classes, and that means that there are a lot of things that I need to get done before class ends. I did homework most of the day yesterday and will again today, but hopefully by the end of today my to-do list will have significantly diminished. I printed out the book of Grimm fairy tales that I made for my computer class yesterday and it turned out very well! Already one of my friends told me she wants a copy of it. I feel like a celebrity...
So next week will be really hectic because after I've finished anything that I need to do for my actual classes right now, I have plenty to do for an online class (that I'd like to finish before I leave on my study abroad, but we'll see how that turns out) and a few things that need, or I'd like to, get done before I leave with classes that I'll be taking on the study abroad. In any case, I've got a lot of work ahead of me, but with my departure looming so close and with classes ending, I think I'll be able to get through it. I might need some serious help from my pal named chocolate, however.

The Countdown Begins

So, I know I said I'd start writing here and haven't. Lets see... its been two months almost? Well I figure I'd have to force myself to get in the habit of writing so that I don't forget when I'm actually abroad. The countdown has begun! Only two more weeks of school and then one week of prep and packing. I'm leaving on the 26th of June. 24 days! I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it. It makes my life now, school and work, that much harder to do everyday. However, I do have things to do as school is winding down because I'll be "taking classes" while I'm in the UK. I'm going to get credit for two Linguistics classes while I'm there, so I'm having to do some preparation and research while I'm still here so that I won't have to do so much there. I have to finish reading two books, one of which has a study guide to do as well, and then write a research paper with another girl who is also going on the study abroad. Shouldn't be too hard, but it just takes time. I also should be working on my online class (Modern English Usage) because I need to have it done before fall starts. Once again, its not hard, but its just a matter of time. Generally I have quite a bit of free time when I get home from class, about 6, but I then spend it doing homework for current classes and at that point am fed up with school and want to sit around or hang out with friends. I just need to whip my butt into shape. I do usually have a lot of time at work, since there isn't much to do this time of year, and as a result I've brought one of the books I need to finish and have been reading it. However, the book isn't the most interesting thing in the world, so I can't just read it straight through like I might for any other.
Enough about that.....
I recently became and aunt again! My brother Braden, or rather his wife Haley, just gave birth to a BEAUTIFUL baby girl which they named Sophia Ann Molyneux. She has a ton of black hair and as far as I have seen is just a quiet little baby, content to sleep and be cuddled. For pictures you can check my brother Logan's blog or Braden's facebook page. My sister also gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Gracie Jen, whom she is giving up for adoption. The pictures I've seen so far look great. The baby was stuck in the birth canal for a while because her head was twisted wrong, so she had pressure marks on her face yesterday, but they'll clear up. She has a big head, very chubby, and my mom says it reminds her of when I was born, because I was a very large baby.
Other than that, I can't report much else than everyone is getting married it seems. Domanique tied the knot last week, a co-worker did last week as well, and another co-worker will at the end of the month. Brigitte (my roommate) and I are planning on adopting a pair of mice because we are both feeling quite pet deprived but do not have space for any other animal. I've also recently come the decision that I need to decorate our apartment. It really is quite sparce. So I'll be hitting the craft store maybe to get some ideas. Just another thing that I need time for. I probably should put it off because I need to do other things first, but they aren't as interesting.
All in all, I just can't wait to leave Provo!!!
